The Right Uniform

Deuteronomy 8:18

“But remember the Lord you God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms this covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”

The story goes that a family was in McDonalds. The little girl ordered a happy meal. Mom and dad ordered a regular combo meal. They all sit down together to eat. Dad reaches over to take a French fry from his little girl after he was finished with his only to have her get mad and say, “those are mine!”. Shocked, the dad thinks, “I don’t think she gets the fact that I can purchase enough French fries to fill this room.”

We must remember where our blessing come from.  Half the time we are wondering about our future and what to do.  Simply trusting in God with your future seems quite stupid if your don’t have a relationship with the Father.  You don’t see people randomly wearing McDonalds work outfits unless they are going to work at McDonalds. 

If you work there you have wear the uniform, it is the rule, what you are wearing defines your business and your role while your wearing it.  Without a relationship with Christ you are like the guy who shows up for work at McDonalds not wearing the right uniform.  You cannot be seen and or function in your full capacity without it.  You cannot even get paid because they won’t put you to work without it as well. 

Where you are in life requires a uniform from God.  It is called Christ and the blood he shed for you.  If you do not except it, is like you showing up for work without a uniform, the boss cannot put you work or bless you with a paycheck without it. 

What uniform are you wearing today?  If someone was to look at your life, would they see the Christ uniform, or would it be concealing from anyone viewing it?  God gives us the ability to produce…. not the other way around.  Your best efforts are better spent acknowledging God as your provider rather than you as a hard worker.  

Sure, we all have talents we seem to be born with. The Lord is reminding us that all those talents you have come from Him. Like it or not the Lord has predestined you to work for Him, just like putting on the right uniform at McDonalds. Today start by showing up for work in the Kingdom with right uniform. When you get up put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-18). Next, every morning, read the basic rules for life manual, the Bible. Finally, stay in an attitude of prayer all day, i.e. talking to the boss… God (Ephesians 6:18). Your job is right there in black and white. He gave you the uniform, the authority to wear it, the power to use it, and grace to serve with it.

Prayer: Father, I pray that I read my Bible daily, even just one chapter or one verse, and meditate on it all day. I pray for divine revelation in the path you want me to go down in Jesus’ name, amen.
