“About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.”
I had a mediation in a lawsuit one time. They put us in separate rooms while we were being asked a series of questions. The mediator would go from room to room asking questions about the case. I could not hear anything in the other room. When my lawyer came in and said the case had been settled and in my favor, I was grateful. It would have been better if I could have heard what was being said in the other room, that would have saved some attistipation. Sometimes you don’t get to hear.
In Paul and Silas’ case, they did not care who was listening. They were thrown in jail after being flogged for casting out a demon from a young girl who was telling fortunes and who could predict the future. This girl was making money for some people, and when the demon left, the future predictions and fortune telling stopped.
BTW, this idea of fortune telling, either by tarot cards or palm reading or sayonces or by horoscopes, is a demonic plot to suck you into a world of witchcraft and demonic satanic ways. If you practice such things, you must stop immediately.
You must commit your way completely to the Lord. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11, ” 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” In the middle of the prison at midnight, Paul and Silas were singing hymns to God, and it says the other prisoners were listening.
The question is, what kind of faith do you have? Is it loud or hidden? Do you boldly live your faith on the outside, or is your faith only seen in the quietness of your room before you go to bed? If you have never done the 30-day challenge on Klove, FM 105.9, then you ought to do it. Only listen to Klove for 30 days straight, nothing else. I will guarantee that God will do a work in your life. You will start humming those worship songs in your free time. At some point, we all have to come out loud about our faith. Someone is hearing what you listen to, what you sing, and how you talk, so let’s make sure what they see and hear is Christ.
Prayer: Father, I pray that I will live my faith out loud for everyone to hear. I pray that I will never hide my faith in you in any way, for I will be ready to tell anyone about you whenever. Whenever, whatever, however, Lord, in Jesus’ name, amen.
