“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Why did God choose to write a book to communicate with us? Because writing is one of the most powerful ways to communicate. Words have a way of sticking with us, guiding us, and shaping the way we think and live. There is something powerful about slowing down long enough to read and reflect. That is why God chose to write.
I don’t know about you, but for me, life has felt pretty chaotic lately. When my life gets hectic, I feel like my journaling and Bible time are the first things to go out the window. The Bible is the greatest story on earth, but God reminded me this week that we all have a story to tell. Inside of all of us is greatness just waiting to come out.
I read a short book recently called The War of Art, and the main premise is that we cannot wait around for the perfect circumstances to create. We have to stay committed and slow our lives down long enough to focus on what God has placed within us.
Writing is God’s love language. Through His Word, He guides us, corrects us, comforts us, and reminds us that He is with us even when life feels chaotic. The world belongs to Him. My job, my future, my calling, and my story are all in His hands. His Word lights the next step even when I cannot see the whole path ahead.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you that your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Help me stay committed to reading your Word and staying in communication with you. I choose to rest in your presence and praise you when my world gets chaotic. I commit to meditating on your Word day and night until I fully trust you. The world belongs to you; it doesn’t rest on my shoulders. Therefore, I give you all my worry and anxiety and cast it upon your shoulders. You are writing my story because you are the author. In Jesus name, amen.
