About Me

Hello, my name is Douglas.  I am 51 years old and currently live in Cedar Park, Texas.  I have been married for over 27 years to my wonderful bride, Tina.  We have 5 daughters that the good Lord has blessed us with. I am a geologist in the oil and gas industry with over 28 years of experience.  Needless to say, a geologist is not the profession you would consider to be associated with Christian writing, but the Lord impressed upon me to begin writing about the verses I read in my devotional time.

I was raised going to Catholic mass every Sunday in Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland, TX.  I remember when I was about 10 years old, my parents started taking us to a non denominational church named Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.  It was there I remember accepting Christ and being baptized in the Holy Spirit at 12 years of age.  My brother also took the leap of faith that day and together we started a journey that is still reaching new heights.  After my baptism when I was 12, sin was no longer fun for me and I found myself reading the Bible on a daily basis.

I enjoy being outside, cycling and mountain biking.  Being an endurance athlete, I am accustomed to the pain of going long distances. The more I push myself, the more familiar I get with how it feels to keep going while the body wants to stop.  Faith is the same way, if you stop when it hurts, you will never reach any level of Christian fitness. Faith is a muscle and it has to trained. I was never a writer in the slightest notion but this journey has taken a geologist and transformed that science geek into a Christian author.  God truly works miracles.

Hearing from the Holy Spirit chapter by chapter and verse by verse, I can attest that the Bible is the living word of God and the Holy Spirit will reveal its mysteries to you if you will humble yourself and truly follow Jesus.  I hope you enjoy reading the devotionals and short history lessons the Lord has given me. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
