Thank You Jesus

A different devotional for today.

The squirrel said to the nut, “Thank you for providing me with nourishment so I can survive the winter.”

The nut said to the tree, “Thanks for allowing me to grow on your beautiful branches so I can provide food for some.”

The tree said to the nut, “Thanks for growing on my branches so some of you could fall to the ground and become new trees.”

The farmer said to the tree, “Thanks for providing wood so I could build a house for my family.”

The wood said to the farmer, “Thanks for using me to keep your home warm in winter and to cook food so you could be filled with nourishment.”

The wooden cross said to the nails, “An innocent man will die on me today.”

The nails said back to the cross, “We will pierce his hands and feet.”

The ground said to the cross, “I will soak up his shed blood.”

The blood spoke to the world, “I was shed so that you could have everlasting life.”

Jesus then turned and showed Thomas his feet and his hands.

Today, let us realize the greatest act of love ever. Jesus shed his blood so you could have everlasting life. He shed his blood for you. Do you know Him?

Prayer: I pray that I never weaken or lose the value of your sacrifice for our sins, Jesus. I pray that I spread the word of your love, and I ask for boldness in speaking it to whomever you direct me, in whatever way. Thank you, Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.
