“Commit your actions to the Lord,
And your plans will succeed.
The Lord has made everything for his own purposes,
even the wicked for a day of disaster.”
If you told me that the Lord is in the middle of wickedness, I would have said you are crazy. In fact, so many people think that the Lord has just left us here on the third rock from the sun to figure things out for ourselves. You can believe in aliens, or Mother Earth, or even magical spirits to get you down this road of belief, but you always come back to one thing: God.
If, for some reason, you choose to only hold on to parts of the Bible, you will find yourself partially satisfied. The New Testament tells us that the whole Word of God is good, not part of it, or some of it, or even the parts we like, but every word from Genesis to Revelation.
Three things to pass on to you today,
- Commit. Commit whatever you do to the Lord. Wake up and commit your day. Walk and eat, committing it all to the Lord. Your words, your thoughts, your actions, your friends, your job, your family, your all should be committed to the Lord.
- He will establish your plans. If you commit, then He, the Lord, will establish your plans. Walking in the Lord means whatever you do should be for Him. He will cause your plans to come into existence for Him and bless you along the way. And;
- The Lord works everything to its proper end. If you commit to the Lord and let Him establish your plans, then naturally you have faith that He will work everything to its proper end, even the bad things or wicked people along the way.
Yes, the Lord is even in the middle of the bad stuff as well as the good stuff. This world is full of sin, and it will stay that way until the Lord comes again and cleans it up. Until then, have faith that even in the middle of your crappy day, the Lord is still working things out. Your job is to commit. Is your day committed to Him? Have you taken control in an effort to get the train back on the track? Stick to what the Lord told you to do, COMMIT, and let the Lord establish your plans.
Prayer: I pray that I will commit all of my plans to You, Lord. Help me to know the difference between those poor plans that I have come up with and those that You have laid upon my heart. Help me to commit even in the most difficult circumstances, in Jesus’ name, amen.
