You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
“Can I face things as they actually are in the reality and light of Jesus Christ, or do things as they really are destroy my trust in Him and put me in panic?”
— Oswald Chambers
When I was growing up, you knew the cowards because they would run at the first sight of trouble. The people that were left were the real courageous ones. They often surprised you, being the ones you would not have picked at first.
God knows your heart. You are called to be victorious in Jesus Christ, not a coward. Oswald Chambers’ question hits home. Can you face reality in the light of Jesus, or does this reality destroy your trust in Him? It is a question that should be asked every morning. Marching forward is the action you take with Christ, He will strengthen you along the way. The one who bows out at the first sign of trouble will never rest in the peace of the Almighty. As Joyce Meyer says, “Do it afraid!”
Prayer: Father, I pray that I step out of the way and cast all my panic and fear at Your feet, knowing You will be with me in every battle, in Jesus’ name, amen.
