Breath Is a Reminder to Praise

Psalm 150:6

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.”

This is the last verse in the mighty book of Psalms. Let me ask you a question: Do you breathe? If so, you should praise His name. Do you want to know how to please the Lord? Psalm 147:11 says, “The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”

How about blowing off the God thing because you think He does not listen to you or won’t answer your prayers? Psalm 146:9 says, “The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. Wickedness starts with turning away from God in your life. It begins with not going to church and reading the Word, making excuses to sleep in or miss church, and it expands to going to church twice a year, Easter and Christmas.

It even goes further when you don’t ever read the Bible or anything pertaining to a devotional. Wickedness, or better known as the lack of God, will replace the parts of you that are devoted to the Lord when you stop feeding your spirit with the Word!

Are your plans frustrated? The Word says that He frustrates the ways of the wicked. If you breathe, praise the Lord! Invite Him into your life by praising Him and thanking Him for everything, from your health to His God-given frustration concerning plans fashioned from our own hands. Push to delight in the Lord in all your ways.

Prayer: Father, help us to delight ourselves in You. I pray that we would begin and end our days thinking and meditating on the Lord and the Bible. I pray that we stay in prayer with You all day, expecting guidance and peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
