“And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.”
The crystal ball, card readers, horoscopes, and fortune tellers all have one thing in common, they all seek to predict your future. Despite their attempts, they all fail. Only one knows the future, God, because He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Looking anywhere else is like playing Russian roulette with the devil. You might get by for a while, but his goal is always to devour.
We read Joseph’s story knowing how it ends, but imagine living it without the ending in sight. Years in prison, forgotten, no hope. Maybe you feel the same, in the middle of a divorce, financial trouble, or personal struggles with no answers ahead. Yet Joseph never stopped pursuing the Lord. His faith carried him through trials until God placed him exactly where he needed to be to save a nation.
The same is true for us. We may not see it, but God is at work, even when life feels like wreckage. Judah went from selling his brother to offering his own life for his younger brother. That transformation shows us how God humbles and reshapes us for His purposes.
The lesson is simple, walk humbly before the Lord. Anger, resentment, and pride destroy, but grace, mercy, truth, and love through Jesus give us the strength to endure. Even if the wreckage is of our own making, God can use it to bring us back to Him.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to trust You when I cannot see the end. Humble me and guide me, and let Your grace carry me through every trial. Amen.
