2025 Pressing On

Proverbs 3:5-8

⁵ Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
⁶ in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.^[a]

⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
⁸ This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

Here we are in 2025. Letitgo.blog has published 359 devotions covering most of the Old Testament. This year we will continue to put out devotionals and fill in the mandate the Lord gave me back in 2019, which was to write a devotional on every chapter in the Old Testament. We have a long way to go and with the Lord guiding this entire venture I am sure His plans will be fulfilled.

I wanted to highlight this verse in Proverbs because it will guide us into 2025. Too often we seem to lean on our own understanding of things. We have God in our hip pocket if we need Him but for the most part we acknowledge the Lord only in major crisis moments. This year let us press on to change that. Let us press on to acknowledge Him in “all your ways”.

Let us also trust the Lord with all of our hearts. A good litmus test is when life rears its ugly side where do you go? If you have submitted your heart to the Lord you go to prayer instantly, if not you get mad and find you way back to prayer after the Holy Spirit has convicted you of your derailment.

Don’t be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil. Let us all start this year with the understanding that we all can learn something and run away from sin. We have not arrived knowing all and are not a walking talking internet full of truth, we all need to be humble and learn from those around us. Learn how people move, act, and breath in life. Pray for a way to introduce the gospel to them. One thing you have is your testimony. It can never be taken away and you own it. So use it when you tell people about the goodness of God.

Finally Letitgo audience, I pray that this brings health to your body and nourishment to your bones. My prayer is always for the Lord to sustain us and guide us in all we do as we do everything unto the glory of the Lord.

2024 was a great year of seeing the Lord breakthrough with all kinds of prayers being answered and seeing His hand move in our lives. I pray that 2025 will be filled with the same. I pray that our hearts and minds will continually be upon you Lord.

I leave you with a Psalm as we press on to fulfill the calling God has put on lives. Let us keep walking by faith and not by sight while we keep our eyes on the Lord.
