“27 Why do you say, Jacob, and you assert, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives strength to the weary,
And to the one who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”
A little English for you all this fine morning. We have a one way conversation from the Lord to His people here where he answers the question He poses. If you read the portion I highlighted I can assure you that most have said this or prayed this. Where is the Lord? Has He forgotten me? Does He even care? All very good questions, and just like the Lord, He answers them.
The Lord first assures us of just who He is, He is the creator of ends of the earth and the everlasting God, not some idol made by human hands or some horoscope you read. He does not become weary or tired. His understanding of our situations is unsearchable meaning that if you don’t have a clue as to why you are in this mess He does and He sees how you are going to get through it.
The rest of the verses are the fruit you bear if you walk by faith and not by sight. I will list them here.
1. He gives you strength.
2. He increases your power for those who lack might.
3. If you wait on the Lord He will give you new strength.
4. You will have wings like eagles.
5. You will run and not get tired.
6. You will walk and will not faint.
Verse 30 reminds us that at our best we still grow weary and tired and stumble badly. So today, make a commitment to wait on the Lord. Pray before every decision. Read the word of God every day. Many fruit trees don’t bear fruit the first few years they start growing. The fruit will come once the tree is old enough to produce it. Keep striving after God every day and you will bear fruit in your life when the time is right. Your job is not growing fruit, it is committing to growing in Christ.
Prayer: Father help us to commit to growing in Christ. I pray that we stop looking for the fruit and start pressing into the learning and growing in Christ. Help us to focus our Spiritual ears and eyes to your calling and guidance in Jesus name, amen.
