Schemes

Ecclesiastes 7:29 

“This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes,”

Have you ever sat down and just wasted a long period of time surfing the internet?  Or maybe you are the one who just takes forever to get ready in morning?  Or you could be the one who sits and listens to all your friends problems only to come to the conclusion, where is God in all this nonsense?  I knew a person who one day would be down to earth and a great friend, while other days I would see that person writing weird things on Facebook and wondering, “is this the same person?”  In this person’s case, being bipolar was cause of this dramatic mood swing. 

Ecclesiastes 7:18 says “whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.”  You are made in image and likeness of God almighty.  A type and picture of Adam and Eve before the fall.  One that communed with Him daily in garden.  You might be like Adam and Eve right after the fall hiding in the garden from God.  You see when you start straying from fearing God your get yourself caught up into schemes.  These schemes do nothing but pull you away from fearing God. 

After Adam and Eve sinned, a separation took place that exposed what sin can corrupt if you let it (schemes).  Satan has used our body as an object for sin and Adam and Eve sewed fig leaves together to hide their nakedness.  Satan used communion with God as an object for sin so Adam and Eve hid from God.  Solomon was only exposing what sin does to you.  God created you in His image, upright, but when you go in of search for sinful schemes, an evil comes and corrupts all that God has made in your life.  Jesus calls us to daily commune with him by reading His inspired living word.  In John 1:1 it says  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  So reading the Word is communing with God and avoiding schemes that may separate you from Him. 

Today, realize that Satan uses scheme, tricks, to corrupt what God has perfected in your life.  Even though sometimes you fall into that trap, God still calls for you in the cool of the morning wondering if you will commune with Him.  Don’t hide when He calls but answer and spend quality time with Him.
