“Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’”

The great story of the Red Sea crossing, what an event. I wonder if any Egyptian writing says anything about this event? The article I have attached a link to will answer this question. When the entire Egyptian army gets taken out in one day, I will bet something was said about it.
Verse 3 has always gripped me. It says the Lord led them to a place where there was really no way out, no way of escape. You could say that God led his people between a rock and a wet place, He He He. OK, not the best joke but how many times have we been put that exact place. We see God move and he delivers us from our mess and then we find out our lives are now between Migdol and the sea. We know what happens to the Israelites after this, but can you spot God in your place between Migdol and sea?
The slave minded Israelites had all the chances to see God and yet they still said in verse 12 that it would have been better for them to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert. Can I submit to you that sometimes the sin in your life will feel more appealing than what God is telling you to do. Sometimes you will think your place in the middle of the mess is better than stepping out and believing God. Heck even Moses was called out in verse 15, “Why are you crying out to me?”.
God is at work in everything you are stepping in today even if is a large steaming pile of poo. Facing those fears of following after Christ may look as close to you as an evading army ready to pounce. Even though following through with God’s plan may seem tough and there could be a wall of water in front of you, but take heart because the Lord of Universe is making a way and He is with you when you cross through. The same barrier He uses to hold back the sea, He will also use to destroy your enemy. Dear saints remember the wall of water you passed through in your past and know that God has much more for you. He has brought you this far and He will lead you to where He wants to you go.
Father, lead us and guide us in your ways. Help us notice your mighty hand when things get tough in our world. May we lift up your praise and fight on our knees with our mouth singing the praises of your truth. Amen.
